Dr. Maha Ahmad obtained her Bachelor of Science degree (Sc.B.) in Neuroscience from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. She went on to obtain a Master of Medical Science (M.M.Sc.) degree as well as a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree, also from Brown University, graduating in 2001. She completed a residency in psychiatry and fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at New York Presbyterian Hospital, Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York, N.Y. She completed a fellowship in sleep medicine here at the Sleep Disorders Institute in July 2007, where she stayed on as an Attending Physician, and has assumed the position of associate director. She has expanded the clinical program in pediatric sleep disorders at our institution, offering services to children and adolescents with sleep problems. Dr. Ahmad is board certified in psychiatry and sleep medicine. She has published and presented research in many areas of medicine.
